Hello Everyone!
We have had a wonderful 2022-2023 season, finally able to reconnect and rebuild. We’ve renewed old friendships and found many new ones among our expanding membership while adapting to the evolving normal. Through it all we found that our community remains strong and full of support for the ISWC and the charities we help. Covid was not the first rough patch we have faced and overcome, nor will it be the last. But overcome we shall, together.
We’re planning several changes for next year, and continue to ask each of you to let us know if you have any new ideas for the next season. Please email us any time at iswc33785@gmail.com. As we are all brainstorming ideas for the events and activities of the next season, we can be proud to remember our core goals:
We are ardent supporters of those needing help in our community, accomplished through our fundraisers and donation collections.
We provide a place where all women can find welcome, understanding, friendship, and a bit of fun, too!
Here is our tentative schedule for the 2023-2024 season. Be sure to mark your calendars! Remember all Town Hall Meetings begin at 6:00pm. Our two restaurant meetings begin at 4:30pm. From time to time, we will continue to host guest speakers.
OCTOBER 5: Oktoberfest Restaurant Season Opening Dinner
NOVEMBER 2: Wine, Women, and Song
DECEMBER 7: Holiday Party and Gifts for Others
JANUARY 4: New Year’s Resolutions: Fashion and Festival (Sign ups and Collections begin)
FEBRUARY 1: Basket Assembly Craft Night
MARCH 8 : Fashion Show Luncheon & Basket Raffle
MARCH 16: St. Patrick’s Day Festival & Basket Raffle
APRIL 4: Spring Fever Business Meeting
MAY 2: Cinco de Mayo Restaurant Closing Dinner
While we will not be collecting food this month, we hope you will be able to participate in the “Cereal for Summer” food drive by our Indian Shores Police Department, who are again accepting donations of shelf-stable breakfast food items in the elevator lobbies at Town Hall. St. Jerome’s Lifeline Food Pantry in Largo is distributing the donations to families in need, to sustain local children through the summer break when they are not guaranteed a meal from school.
Our last meeting of the season will be on May 4, which happens to be Cinco de Mayo Eve, so of course we’ll have our closing dinner at VIP Mexican, one of our generous donors. Hope we see you there, Thursday afternoon, 5/4/23, at 4:30.
May the Fourth be with us all as we celebrate one great year and look forward to the next!
