MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS


ATTENTION QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF INDIAN SHORES, FLORIDA. In accordance with provisions of the State of Florida Election code, Public Notice is hereby given and published that a Presidential Preference Primary and Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M., in the Indian Shores Municipal Building located at 19305 Gulf Boulevard, 4th Floor Community Center, Indian Shores, Florida, 33785. In the Municipal Election, registered electors of the Town shall have the opportunity to vote for one Mayor for a three-year term.

Voter registration deadline for this election is Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

ATENCIÓN ELECTORES CALIFICADOS DEL PUEBLO DE INDIAN SHORES, FLORIDA. De acuerdo con las disposiciones del código Electoral del Estado de Florida, por medio del presente se otorga y se publica un Aviso Público sobre una Elección Primaria de Preferencia Presidencial y Municipal que se llevará a cabo el martes 19 de marzo de 2024, entre las 7:00 A.M. y 7:00 P.M., en el Edificio Municipal de Indian Shores ubicado en 19305 Gulf Boulevard 4.º Piso Community Center, Indian Shores, Florida, 33785. En la Elección Municipal, los electores inscritos del Pueblo tendrán la oportunidad de votar por un Alcalde para un periodo de tres años.

La fecha límite de inscripción de votantes para esta elección es el martes, 20 de febrero de 2024.




To help citizens make an informed decision on who they will potentially vote for in the Indian Shores Mayoral Election on March 19, 2024, a Meet the Candidates night has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024, beginning with a Meet and Greet at 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Q&A session conducted and moderated by the League of Women Voters (LWV) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


This public event will take place in the 4th Floor Community Center of Town Hall, located at 19305 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores, FL. 

For citizens who would like to submit a question in advance of the event, you may write your question on index cards (provided at the event) and give it to LWV members, who will read the questions aloud and provide time for candidate replies. Alternatively, you can email your question to flozano@myindianshores.com with the subject line "Meet the Candidates Question" or drop off your written question on the 3rd Floor at Town Hall no later than 3:00 P.M. on February 20, 2024. Questions received in advance of the event will be submitted to the LWV.



IMPORTANT Notes from Pinellas County Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Regarding Mail Ballot Requests

  • Effective December 31, 2022, all mail ballot requests on file expired per Florida law. Please see the options listed below to check your mail ballot status and/or request a mail ballot.
  • Any registered voter may vote by mail.
  • Vote-by-Mail requests remain active through the calendar year of the next regularly scheduled general election (in other words, mail ballot requests are good for two years).
  • All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received no later than 5 p.m. on the 12th day prior to an election. (Effective July 1, 2023)

  • The Indian Shores Municipal Building does not collect mail ballots or mail them to the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections as a courtesy for voters.

Municipal Election Qualifying Period:
Began at noon, Friday, December 1, 2023, and ended at noon, Friday, December 8, 2023.

Election Day:  Tuesday, March 19, 2024

Voter Registration Deadline:  February 20, 2024

Deadline to request a ballot to be mailed:  March 7, 2024, by 5:00 P.M.
