The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office reminds voters that TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18 is the deadline to register to vote and change political party affiliation for the March 17, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary and Municipal Elections.
Registration is required for new voters by this deadline in order to participate in the March 17, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary and Municipal Elections. Voters who are already registered to vote in Florida do not need to re-register but can update their voter registration address.

Florida is a closed primary state. Voters must be registered with the Republican Party or Democratic Party in order to vote in the Republican or Democratic Primary for President. In addition, 12 municipalities will conduct elections on March 17 – City of Clearwater, City of Gulfport, Town of Kenneth City, City of Madeira Beach, City of Oldsmar, City of Pinellas Park, Town of Redington Shores, City of Safety Harbor, City of South Pasadena, City of St. Pete Beach, City of Tarpon Springs and City of Treasure Island.
Voter registration applications are available at any Supervisor of Elections office, public library, tax collector office, government office handling social services or online at VotePinellas.com.
Address changes can be made online at VotePinellas.com by calling (727) 464-VOTE (8683) or by emailing Election@VotePinellas.com, with birth date included. Party changes may be made by sending a signed, written statement to the Supervisor of Elections Office, with birth date or voter ID number. Any updates, including signatures and political party affiliation, can be made by completing and signing a voter registration application and returning it to the Supervisor of Elections Office. All new applications received by mail must be postmarked by Tuesday, February 18 in order to be valid for the March 17, 2020, Presidential Preference Primary and Municipal Elections.
