As the number of positive COVID-19 cases rises, 2 new testing sites are open in Pinellas County to meet additional demand.
Tropicana Field COVID-19 testing site now open
The City of St. Petersburg has partnered with Impact Health and the Tampa Bay Rays to open a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site at Tropicana Field, Lot 2. Both PCR and rapid antigen testing will be offered at no cost. Testing will be available on a drive-up basis, no appointment needed. Everyone is encouraged to pre-register at impacthealth.com/StPeteTrop ahead of their visit. The testing site will be closed Monday, January 17, due to road closures associated with the MLK parade.
The testing site will be open 7 days per week, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Both PCR and rapid antigen testing will be offered at no cost. For those with health coverage, an insurance card will be requested.
There is also a new COVID-19 testing site located at 7150 114th Ave. in Largo. Testing is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.
This new site joins the one currently operating at the Center for Health Equity in St. Petersburg, which offers testing from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Both rapid and PCR tests for COVID-19 are offered at no cost at these locations. Proof of medical insurance is recommended and should be presented at the time of the test. Those without medical insurance will still be tested at no cost.
The test sites are operated and managed by CDR Maguire, not the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County (DOH-Pinellas). For information about these CDR Maguire test sites, call (850) 583-2419.
There are also CVS, Walgreens and urgent care clinics providing testing in Pinellas. They are listed on the Pinellas County site at covid19.pinellascounty.org/testing/.
DOH-Pinellas continues to encourage everyone who has not received a COVID-19 vaccination to get protected as soon as possible, and for those who are eligible to receive their booster dose. Vaccinations remain the most effective defense against COVID-19.
To find all locations where vaccines are provided near you, go to www.vaccines.gov or call (800) 232-0233.
