Town Seeking Qualified Interim Town Administrator.

The Town of Indian Shores, Florida, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Interim Town Administrator, following the retirement of our long-serving administrator. This barrier island community in Pinellas County, with a population of approximately 1,200 residents and spanning 2.5 miles, offers an exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team of 13 employees in Administration, Building and Public Services departments, ensuring smooth and effective service for our vibrant community. The Town Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the town, excluding law enforcement and public safety, which are under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police who reports to the Town Council.

The salary for the Interim Town Administrator position is set at $136,489 (current TA salary) per annum, with payments distributed bi-weekly. This temporary role is expected to last between 3-9 months, during which time the Town Council will be conducting a search for a permanent administrator.

The ideal candidate should possess either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, or a closely related field. Additionally, a minimum of five years executive-level experience in a governmental entity is required. Comparable combinations of education and experience in a similar scope and responsibility will also be considered.
