[ARCHIVED] Storm Debris/Trash Removal and Illegal Dumping

ATTENTION INDIAN SHORES AND REDINGTON SHORES RESIDENTS,

The contracted debris removal company, Phillips and Jordan, is working diligently to clear debris from roadways and public rights-of-way. If you hire an independent company to remove debris from your property, please ensure they comply with the regulations set by the Towns and FEMA (pdf)

It is strictly prohibited to illegally dump debris on any other private or public property pursuant to: 

Indian Shores Code Section 62.6. – Depositing:

It shall be unlawful to deposit garbage or trash upon the premises of another or upon any street, alley, parkway or other public or private property or on any canal, ditch, wetland, water, waterway, gulf, bay, rock bed, sand bed, pool, pond or the like, within the town, or in the can or receptacle of another who has paid the collection service fee as provided in this chapter, except that tenants of multiple dwellings or businesses, where authorized, may deposit garbage in cans or receptacles upon which the owner or manager of the multiple dwelling or business building shall have paid the collection service fee provided in this chapter and which cans or containers shall be authorized for the use of the tenant by the owner or manager thereof. 

Redington Shores Code Section 127-8. – Deposits on premises or in container of another prohibited; exception.

It shall be unlawful to deposit trash upon the premises of another or upon any street, alley, park or other public property or in any canal, water, waterway, rock pit or pool within the town or in any trash container(s) upon which any other person shall have paid the collection fee as provided by the terms of this article, except that tenants of multiple dwellings or commercial establishments may deposit trash in trash container(s) upon which the owner or manager of said multiple dwelling or commercial establishment shall have paid the collection fee provided therein and authorized the tenants to use the trash container(s).

THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLATIONS OF THESE RULES. COMPANIES AND/OR INDIVIDUALS FOUND ILLEGALLY DUMPING STORM DEBRIS AND/OR TRASH WILL FACE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES, INCLUDING POTENTIAL ARREST, FINES, AND IMPOUNDMENT OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT.
